What is the difference between the Standard & Premium Chillers?
The Standard Chiller cools water between 3° C and 20° C, is plug and play, and comes with a 2 year warranty. It does not include a water filter, so you may need to change the water at a more rapid pace.
The Premium Chiller includes all of the features of the Standard, with the added features of Wifi-enabled Temp control and a professional 3 step filtration system (20 Micron Filter, Large Particles, Ozone). This will keep your water clean for longer and facilitate the maintenance of your ice bath system.
The new version of our Premium Chiller now includes a heating function and improved craftsmanship. Read more in the next section.
What's changed with the new Premium Chiller 2.0?
We've gathered the feedback of over 1000 clients to produce a new and improved premium chiller, tailored for the canadian climate.
Our new premium chiller keeps all the features you've loved from the previous edition and now boasts a heating functionality, which allows you to keep your chiller outside in temperatures going as low as -5° C.
You may also turn the heating all the way up, transforming your Nordik Recovery Ice Bath into a Nordik Recovery Spa, with water temperatures of up to 45° C.
Finally, we've improved the craftsmanship of the chiller ensuring it will last for years to come, all while optimizing the chiller for easy servicing.
Can I leave the ice bath outside year-round?
Nordik Recovery Ice Baths are built to withstand outdoor temperatures of as low as -10° C. When the bath is kept below freezing temperature, you may need to break the ice on a daily basis to prevent it from becoming a solid block of ice. We do not recommend leaving it out at temperatures colder than -10° C, since the water will turn into a solid block too rapidly.
Our standard chiller should not be left outside when temperatures are below 0° C as the cold temperature may damage the inner components of the chiller. Our premium chiller's heating functionality allows it to be left in temperatures of up to -5° C.
Can I leave my chiller outside when not in use?
Our chillers have an IPX4 water resistance rating, meaning they can withstand splashes of water or light rain. We recommend pro-actively shielding your chiller from direct rain fall, dust and debris if you want to extend its lifespan. You should always maintain adequate air flow around it.
What is the temperature range of the ice bath chillers?
The standard chiller can cool water between 3° C and 20° C. The premium chiller can cool or heat water between 3° C and 45° C.
How often should I change the water in my ice bath?
We recommend emptying the water in your ice bath & wiping it down every 3 to 6 weeks depending on usage. Our premium chiller comes with a filter and allows you to go longer in between water changes.
How long does it take for the chiller to cool the water?
After the bath is filled with water and the chiller is turned on, it takes approximately 4 hours for the water temperature to reach 3° C.
How often should I replace the filters in my premium chiller?
Premium Chiller filters should be replaced every 2-3 weeks depending on your usage. Regularly changing the filter helps maintain water quality by removing impurities and ensuring the system functions optimally.

Our direct and exclusive relationship with our manufacturer empowers us to meticulously choose every element that goes into our boards, and now our baths! This level of control ensures that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

What are the benefits of using an ice bath?
Reduced Muscle Soreness: The study found that participants who engaged in post-exercise ice bath immersion reported significantly lower levels of muscle soreness compared to the control group, suggesting that cold exposure may contribute to faster recovery.
Improved Muscle Function: Ice bath participants exhibited enhanced muscle function in subsequent exercise sessions, indicating that regular cold exposure may have positive effects on muscular performance and recovery.
Inflammation Modulation: Analysis of inflammatory markers showed a decrease in post-exercise inflammation in the ice bath group, suggesting a potential role of cold therapy in modulating the inflammatory response associated with intense physical activity.
